For MTPE, I always ask the PM for a 200-word paid pilot and set an hourly rate from edit-distance stats; it’s kept me profitable, though some “remote” posts are geo-locked, @OP. Anyone else getting nudged back to per-word?

I’ve had fewer headaches on medical MTPE by asking @OP if units and drug names are locked and whether there’s a DNT list; otherwise you’re quietly playing pharmacist at 2 a.m. I also send a quick QA pass on the first 300–500 words with dosage/unit flags and a reference link like https://iate.europa.eu — if that’s not welcome, I pass, but I’m more flexible on non-medical work.
On these real-time MTPE posts, I first ask @OP which engine/version and whether the brief says ‘publishable’ or just ‘good enough’ — that sets my throughput and price. If they won’t share a short paid sample or an LQA rubric, I switch to an hourly floor so scope creep doesn’t eat the weekend.
